Even though we always hope for the best for our clients when it comes to weather, we also expect and plan for the worst when it comes to Colorado weddings!
Most of our clients dream of an outdoor wedding ceremony with those amazing *views*, but the truth is, Colorado weather can change in a split second and rain can show up in the blink of an eye! The last thing you want to do is make a Plan B or fall back plan on the fly!
Here are some things to consider when booking a venue:
Does your venue have a back-up indoor location?
Are you able to bring an outdoor tent to the venue?
Can the staff accommodate a timely room- flip, if necessary?
The main thing to plan for when making a ‘Rain Plan’ is seeing if you need to set aside some budget for an "oh shit" policy. For example, if you are planning on having a tent for a backup plan, you will need to pay 50% of the cost, whether or not you end up using it. Be sure to include these “what-ifs” in your initial budget so that they don’t sneak up and surprise you in the end.
Regardless if mother nature does decide to surprise you, there are ways to ensure your special day and outdoor ceremony still goes off without a hitch. Weather is the one thing you can’t control, so it’s best to embrace what comes along and have a plan if things need to change at any point.
